Mike Simanyi's '95 BMW M3, SMod Prepped : Mike's 1995 M3 autocross car used to be built for STU class racing but in 2009 he switched to Street Modified class prep. He took a simple approach and built the car to be light, have a good suspension, use a reasonable tire width, and a high revving naturally aspirated motor. The car weighs 2600 pounds, has a built 3.0L motor with 300 whp, AST 5200s, Vorshlag camber plates, and Mason shock tower brace. Tires are 285/30/18 Hoosiers on 18x10" wheels with custom steel wheel flares. Mike took the car to a dominant win at the 2009 SCCA Solo Championship in SMod, and the car also won SML handily.

Jeff W's 3rd Gen Camaro "CMC" class race car : Pictures of AST tester Jeff W's CMC classed third generation Camaro race car. This car is campaigned in the NASA "Camaro Mustang Challenge" or CMC road racing class. Jeff is testing the first AST shocks for CMC class and is clobbering the competition ever since he got the new suspension. We have more testing in store with Jeff and we know there is even more speed to be found in this car. The CMC field is taking notice in a bog way since Jeff's 3rd gen is usually beating all of CMC, CMC2, AI and even most or all of the AIX cars!

Kent K's 2005 Mustang GT / STU or ESP Prepped? : Kent is an old racing buddy of the Vorshlag crew and volunteered to help us develop AST shocks/struts for the S197 Mustang chassis. This car has prototype AST 4100/4200 shocks, Vorshlag camber plates, and Hyperco springs. Kent runs National level events and was 2nd fastest on day 1 of the 2008 SCCA Solo Nats in FStock. His GT is being prepped for the STU autocross class (the first serious STU attempt by any Mustang) and if that doesn't work out it will go straight to ESP.

John K's 2008 STI : This black 2008 STI is a track terror and street driven daily driver, raced in Dallas by John K. He brought his car to Vorshlag for trial fitment of our very first prototype set of 2008 STI ("GR" chassis) camber plates and a set of production AST4100 struts. Everything went on perfectly, and during the course of the install the car was corner weighed, aligned at max/min camber, and test driven before and after. In John's words: "You guys did it... it rides as good as it did stock, with the new suspension. This is the perfect street set-up!" The spring rate was more than doubled and it still rode perfectly. Mission accomplished.

Jeremy's C5 FRC Corvette : The first set of AST4100s ever built are being tested by Dean on his 1999 Corvette "Fixed Roof Coupe". Dean did 2-3 track and/or autocross events per month in the car. The ride improved drastically over the Koni adjustables it had before, but handling improved as well. Dean later sold his car to Jeremy and it is still being used to test out new AST shocks. The car now has AST 5200 inverted double adjustable shocks with remote reservoirs!

Luke's 335i Sedan : Luke tested the first ever set of E90 shocks that AST built, back in 2007. He has been autocrossing his car monthly ever since, as well as daily driving his family in this 4 door sedan. In July the car posted a dominent win in 2 classes at a BMWCCA autocross, all 3600 poudns of it! McCall's BMW E36/7 M Roadster (with LS1 V8) : Jason has been a great tester for several Vorshlag products on the many cars he has owned over the years (RX8, EVO 9, Supercharged Miata, E36 M3, Pontiac G8) and now is testing our E36 LS1 swap kit in his BMW M Roadster. After finding an engine-less M Roadster in Florida we drove 36 hours non-stop to go pick it up and bring it back to Dallas. This car is being built for autocross (SCCA X Prepared) and Time Trial use (NASA TTU) and should end up at 2300 pounds. It has 18x11" CCW wheels, giant Hoosiers, and lots of other go fast goodies. Oh, and that LS1 aluminum 5.7L V8 and T56 6-spd transmissions! Its going to be a BEAST.

Aaron Leichty's S2000 : Aaron was one of our first S2000 AST testers in 2008 and he's out breaking records in NASA Time Trial in 2009. Here are some pictures from his first outing at Putnam Park, where he shattered the TTC record by 3 seconds, beat the TTB record by a second, and almost nabbed the TTA record... in a TTC car.
