AST 5300 Shocks - Vorshlag Motorsports

Pictures of our newest AST 5000 series shocks and struts, featuring inverted 45 and 50mm upper shafts on struts and a modular design. This allows easy upgrades from single to double to triple adjustables with remote reservoirs on 5100RR, 5200 and 5300.

vorshlag > The hose routing on inverted struts with remote reservoirs. M16-1.0 upper shaft threads are made to work with Vorshlag camber plates (which feature a massive 19mm ID spherical bearing).

vorshlag > Inverted 5300 strut for BMW 135i with remote reservoir. House routing makes for easy mounting of the canister underhood. Inverted 45mm upper shaft diameters means less camber and toe change under heavy cornering and braking while the remote reservoirs used on this and 5200 versions gives more suspension travel, fluid, and heat dissipation for more consistent damping throughout endurance race lengths.

This new design is based on the proven Inverted competition strut designs AST has been building for European circuit and rally racers for many years. We believe in building the right shaft for the job, not the "one size fits all" shaft like most of our competitors sell. AST inverted strut designs can have 44.5, 45, 50 or even 60mm diameter upper shafts, depending on the application.

vorshlag > The heavy duty Vorshlag E82/E90 camber plate can be configured to work with this 16mm upper shaft diameter. Double swivel upper fitting on the supplied hoses make for easy reservoir mounting at any orientation.

vorshlag > Complete AST 5300 kit for BMW 135i, assembled with Hyperco springs and Vorshlag camber-caster plates. The Hyperco springs in this set measured 60mm x 7" x 550 #/in (Front) and 2.5" x 8" x 850 #/in (Rear).
